The retreat of the glaciers gave birth to more than 62 lakes in Saint-Hippolyte, including Lac de l'Achigan. The occupation of the territory extends over the townships of Wexford, Kilkenny and Abercrombie, names from Ireland and military history. Irish immigration marked the second wave of settlement, succeeding the first settlers. In 1951, the municipality was established as the parish of Saint-Hippolyte. Today, Lake Achigan is considered to be one of the largest navigable lake near Montreal. Several renowned people have lived there over the years.

This cottage, located on the edge of its 230-foot private beach on Lake Achigan, had initially undergone four extensions over the years and dates from 1965. The ergonomics of the house meant that it lacked harmony, thus losing its uniformity. By demolishing and modifying structural elements inside, we succeeded in creating homogeneity from room to room, as if the house had been built new. From the billiard and arcade room, bar section with wine vending machine, home theater, central sound system, to the tennis/basketball court, this is the perfect home for entertaining.
